About the Festival One love / History of EDM / Dance floor

LGBTQ is not an acronym, it’s an alliance. Influence. Unify. Party. Not just words, but a chance to take part in this year’s most significant event.

GAYDM “One Love,” on September 11 at Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood, hosts the nation’s first LGBTQ+ EDM event that brings us together to create one unified voice! When the LGBTQ+ community unites there is no limit to what we can achieve. GAYDM has partnered with GAGA (Gay Georgia) and Lost-n-Found Youth to harness the power of the party for meaningful change! GAYDM “One Love” is the nation’s first epic party solely to promote the rights of LGBTQ+ citizens.

Pride parties have always been a catalyst to bring the LGBTQ+ community together, yet there has always remained a social divide between our five letters. GAYDM merges our tribes into one unified voice for one night to affect change. This usually doesn’t happen as the gay community has rarely unified its voice to promote its own important issues. In a country divided by politics we have the opportunity to lead by example — and nothing brings people together like a party! Gay or straight, cis, trans, or non-binary, GAYDM “One Love” is for everyone! We hope you join us September 11 as we embark on a brighter future for the world. Your presence makes an important statement. One Love … the name says it all!

LGBTQ+ DJs pioneered electronic dance music. At the height of disco, groundbreaking, gay artists like Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles began implementing heavy bass, breaks, and beats, transforming disco into the techno and house that we know today. Though many may not know it, much of the music we enjoy today at dance clubs is the legacy of almost half a century of LGBTQ+ DJs, mixers, and artists. One of the goals at GAYDM “One Love” is to take back what we created! Let the truth of the music pour out from the closet door and into the heart of the public. It’s a chance for everyone that loves dance music to celebrate its origins. EDM is rooted in our culture and in our community.

Since its inception, EDM has grown from underground scenes to the music that has defined generations. Astonishingly diverse and universally loved, EDM speaks to every race, nationality, gender, and sexuality around the globe. It heightens our senses, quickens our pulse, and drives us to the pinnacle of excitement with a myriad of sub-genres like techno, electro, dubstep, synthwave, lo-fi, and more. As with many art forms, its worldwide acceptance has obscured its true origins. Let’s show the world where true PLUR comes from!

Lesbian, Gay, Straight, Trans, Non-Binary — we are all in this struggle together, but on September 11 we all party together!

Bridging political and social boundaries, GAYDM “One Love” is a party in every sense of the word. Thirty top DJs appear over three stages during the 12-hour event. We have brought together leaders from the gay, lesbian, and trans community to help promote our event nationally. This event can make a real difference. GAYDM “One Love” offers the largest dance floor in the Southeast with 30,000 sq. ft. of cryo full-tilt madness. But this show is far more than an epic Stride into Pride dance party — it’s partying with a purpose. Your admission helps support GAGA (Gay Georgia) and Lost-n-Found Youth. All profits from this event go towards these wonderful causes!
